I realize this shirt may be too controversial for some Canvas fans out there, but I'm hoping it will challenge others in a very bold way! With so many 'beer-ad' shirts out there, I think it would be a great witnessing tool to have a shirt that looks like a beer shirt, only to elaborate on the emptiness of drinking. Youth today want something that looks 'cool' and will often settle for the glorification of alcohol brands. I'd like to turn that around and point to the war that alcohol can rage inside of your heart and mind. This shirt hits very close to home for me, and alcohol can present a very real struggle for both Christians and non-Christians alike. We need to realize that the Bible makes mention of it for a reason, cautioning us against too much of it. I'm not trying to condemn, but rather to speak understanding as someone who's been there. Christ can fill all desires and addictions, if we allow him to. "Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise." -PROV 20:1

amazing illustration. but i think the message is confusing. is it saying that you should "be drunk in the spirit" (thus the cross on the can). or are the cans empty beer cans (which is then confusing because it could be seen by the viewer as glorifying beer). and what does "empty" represent? overall i just think the message is a bit confusing, but other than that amazing illustration work. also, important to note that the verse implies not that wine and beer are wrong, but that a wise person is not led astray by them, meaning it is possible to drink them without being led astray by them. of course the best solution is to stay far away, but if you are mature enough, it is possible. all this being said, great work, a bit confused on the message, and not sure if it's something you want to tackle for a shirt design given all the implications. this is a very long comment and i'm done now. thanks!

nice design, but i think the cross is a little confusing since the can is crushed

great messege... strong and bold.. what we need

Diggin it. 5/5. If there's a way to incorporate the cross other than the can, even better. But as it is, it's still great.

Paul Sanduleac, yes...why wouldn't it be?

Paul Sanduleac - 11/13/2009 1:43:36 PM

Is this supposed to be christian?

This is an awesome design! I like the cross on the can, and how the can looks crushed! The gunk coming out of the neck and arms is really cool too!

wow , i remember i use to feel like that, empty, but now im feel with the Holy Spirit, this one is very nice. God bless you 5/5

love the design... agree with cross comments.

DaughterofEve DoE - 11/4/2009 3:55:07 PM

Really cool! I would take away the cross, though. Also, make the text a different color that stands out more. :)

Introspektr - 11/4/2009 3:41:28 PM

Oh awesome! I would wear this on my college campus no doubt about it. I agree about the cross placement, but otherwise this is perfect!

Shine_on_girl - 11/4/2009 1:59:51 PM

I agree with Happy_panda...that was my interpretation too. It is a great idea and well executed. I like your image.

Knoll - 11/4/2009 7:35:19 AM

Again this is a good conversation piece, but if you wear it get ready to be able to explain it. I would like to see a version of this with that Proverb being the focal point and the cans being secondary. Great presentation.

Joeamania - 11/3/2009 10:35:32 PM

this is anwsome shirt but the cross on the can does not translate to jesus coving the sin to me. mabe being drunk with the spirit though.

Teresa - 11/3/2009 9:42:50 PM

I love controversial shirts, but I really don't like the cross on the can...I've been told that my shirt would be misunderstood as well, so I humbly state my opinion here. I totally get what your trying to do and appreciate your effort. Keep 'em coming!!

creative design with a powerful message!

KUJUEria - 11/3/2009 8:14:08 PM

Happy to see you back with a new design. I'm actually working on a shirt based on that scripture and I totally relate to your description. I think the image is conflicting with the message/scripture. I believe you have two separately great ideas, DRINK CHRIST and the PROVERB as another.

mkdesign - 11/3/2009 7:12:44 PM

I had the same debate with myself about the cross on the can- but liked the idea of Jesus covering any sin or addiction, just like the cross on the can! Open to ideas though!

happy_panda - 11/3/2009 6:53:53 PM

I love the concept! Your description is so true. the only thing that i'd change is that i'd put the cross somewhere else instead of on the beer can because someone might interpet the design as saying that Christ is empty if they couldn't understand the verse right... but it's still a great design and the art is awesome! =D

Valerie - 11/3/2009 5:47:20 PM

Same comments as the other one...5/5!
