I've got and idea....

Ok, so have you noticed that most of the designs up for voting, are, ummmmm...(how do I put this?), somewhat UNCREATIVE, like they took about 2 minutes to slap on a t-template? Am I the only one noticing this? I was looking at some old designs that didn't win by, oh, people like Rory and Rexamillion. Any who, I've got this idea, it's not a new idea because other t-shirt design sites do it. It's called "decline". =^/ If your design looks like not much went into it, it could have the chance of being declined. I think this is another reason of some of the better designers leaving. SO many 'THIS NEEDS ABOUT 2 MORE HOURS OF WORK INTO IT' designs getting high scores. Did you know you have to WORK and PRACTICE to be a designer? Just check out some of my older designs...hahahaha! And I'm still not even half way there! So.......I challenge everyone to TAKE IT UP about 3 notches, including myself, or for 2-minute designs to be declined. PEOPLE...submit critiques! I know I'm not the one to say all this...but I felt like I should....... =^)

I love it when ppl give me a constructive criticism on my designs it helps me get better. Sometimes I can just tell when someone just saying something just to say it other then saying it to help me have a more open mind just because I said something about there stuff. But don't get me wrong the more real ppl here the better, there's just ppl here that say something and don't back it up that's when I get into offense mode. But thenn I laugh then get over it :)

I hate telling people to do this (because I am very embarrassed by it), BUT...go look at some of my old designs. They should have been declined. Then look at some of my new-ish designs. (keep in mind that I am all self-taught and that's why they don't improve very fast). Improvement is not impossible. It actually doesn't take that long. I just hope that people will improve...like I did...and better! That's all I "ask". If people are not willing to take a little time to learn their program and get good, then the result is what we have now: constant designs at level 1 that are not getting better.

TIP: If you're not having fun while creating your art...there is no point.

TIP 2: If you're not sure of your design in any way, don' submit it! Work on it, and if it still doesn't look right, start over.

Trial and error.

Ok. I never said that my designs are any better than anyone elses.

Me and Valerie were just trying to say that compared to how Canvas used to be, the designs are really weak. There used to be really good proffesional looking designs. Better than the mediocracy that is coming in now. (I mean come on... How hard is it to make a realistic mockup? Presentation should matter a little more to some people. Bad mockups can make a good design look sloppy.)

Its really not about winning. I dont do this just because I "might" win. I do it because I love to do it and because it is gloyifying Him.


I have a feeling that even if we gave you some really constructive critisism on your designs, you would be offended and think that we were "dissing" them.

I have no clue, all I know is that it's gone. Maybe she flagged it as inappropriate so she could get it off?

I would never base my score or critiques on what you said. That's not the way I do things.

I simple critiqued your designs. Sorry if you didn't like what I thought of them.

I was not trying to put anyone down AT ALL! I was just saying that we all need to step it up...a lot!
I'm not going to take back one thing I said...because I don't have to.
And what Britni said...that is the truth. BUT she did not target one designer and totally crush them, like you just did to me.

...that totally crushed me. I remember over a year ago drawing those and it took forever to get them how I liked...and ten you tell me that? When I read that I chocked up. And"be happy for those who did win instead of dogging them" WHAT????? I am so happy for EVERYONE who wins!

In the Bible, I can't remember what verse, but it says something like 'instead of holding a grudge against someone, pray for them.'
So I'll be praying for you.

Brent, I agree Sister Freak can use some work but this probably not here thing and she probably doing it to Glorify God and not us. The purple guy didn't say we can't give it a try.

All I am saying is instead of putting people down tell them what they can do to change instead of saying, "uncreative, boring, and just ugly designs" because that's not saying anything but you don't like it; but why is it ugly, why isn't it creative, why is it boring? I you don't like what I put out I hope you can tell me why by critiques instead of dissing me.

I agree they should change it a bit by having like judges for the final say but hey your quick 2min thing can be a msg that reach some even if a great design wasn't there to back it up. Some designs that seem like it took forever ends up being to busy, to much going on, a detraction wise.

uncreative, boring, and just ugly designs coming in by the boatload... i don't know if some people just found out about canvas and decided they were gonna submit crummy designs just so they could possibly win some extra cash. but their deffinately needs to be some kind of filter.

Sister Freak, I did tell you what to change on your forum post, and you still did it anyways on your 2012 shirt. That's probably why you're not getting any critiques, because you're making the same mistakes so there's no need to say it again.

And yes, they do need a decline process. I think they don't have one because they aren't getting many designs though.
